THE PROBLEM
Most current deodorant brands are not as concerned with sustainable practices as they should be. So I set out to create a new deodorant brand centered around not only being more sustainable, but also more affordable than current options already on the market. 
RESEARCH PHASE
I started with research into how serious the problem is with plastics in general, since that's what most deodorant tubes utilize. I found that about 12.7 million tons of plastics end up in our oceans each year, which is a major problem. I also found that most deodorants currently on the market are not only hard to recycle because they use multiple kinds of plastics in the same tube, but they also are full of toxic chemicals that can cause serious health issues with extended use.
BRAND MISSION STATEMENT
When it comes to your choice of body care products, we know that there are a lot to choose from. Here at newt, we wanted to make things a bit easier and more personal to you and your personality. Because we think that personal hygiene products should be just that, personal. 
We are here to help you be the best you that you can be.
branding
The key terms I used for the branding of this company were: Adventurous, modern, trustworthy, and innovative. I wanted all elements of the brand to fit these ideas, and so I came up with the following visual elements to help those come across —
packaging
The next issue to solve was how to create a new packaging system that would stand out from what's already out there while maintaining the main brand characteristics.
design phase
After deciding on the packaging I thought would work best, I went to the computer and got together a design that would no only stand out from other products, but stay true to the brand itself.
Final Prototyping
After getting the design finalized from packaging to the wraps and stickers on the tubes, it was time to put it all together in a final prototype.
